SFAM 90 Flow Sensor reduces energy costs and improves productivity and quality.
Festos modular SFAM 90 airflow sensor can precisely monitor an entire machine's airflow to detect conditions that are wasting energy--conditions that also indicate pneumatic valves and actuators are not performing to specifications.
The SFAM-90 is an expansion of the SFAM flow sensor series into higher flow rates (up to 15,000 L/min). This product can be ordered as a stand-alone unit, with tube mounting, or with mounting for integration into an MS9 series air preparation unit.
Using the combined configuration provides an enterprise with an advanced, cost-justified, energy-saving, productivity-enhancing, and preventive maintenance solution for pneumatics. The SFAM 90 provides absolute flow information and accumulated air consumption measurement. It features an adjustable consumption-based switching impulse for accumulated air consumption measurement via the switching output. It can provide precise information even when flow conditions are fluctuating and unreliable. With its highly dynamic response of 1:100, the sensor covers an extensive measuring range with a specified accuracy. The SFAM 90 is compact, which makes for flexible installation. The unidirectional flow sensor offers a choice of flow direction left to right or right to left. It is plug and play, with clear and fast menu navigation and manual consumption measurement with start/stop and reset functionality.

Burkert presents flexible solution for integration of actuators in hygienic processes
The diverse areas of application for the Type 8640 valve terminal and the Type 8644 automation system in the food and beverage and Bio/Pharma industries are expanded by Air- LINE Quick with a stainless steel adapter plate and stainless steel push-in connectors for hygienic applications. Installation and commissioning are reduced to a minimum. You determine the installation location of the valve terminal or valve block: on the wall or floor of the control cabinet. AirLINE Quick supports both options.
AirLINE Quick significantly reduces the number of components in the control cabinet. You need fewer pneumatic hoses and cables and you can integrate AirLINE Quick directly in the floor or wall of the control cabinet, eliminating the need for bulkhead connections on the cabinet. A unique feature of the Type 8640 and the Type 8644 automation system is the combination of the pneumatic connections, field bus interface and I/O modules directly on the floor or wall of the control cabinet, which means that the control cabinet can be generally smaller than in the past.
AirLINE Quick, combined with the important integrated process safety features such as check-valves which are integrated in the exhaust air channels and the pneumatic hot-swap function (P-channel shut-off) which makes it possible to replace a valve while the system is in operation, now offers the optimal solution for pneumatic piloting devices in process technology for hygienic applications. In addition to AirLINE Quick in a stainless steel version for hygienic applications, the concept is also available for general purpose applications with an anodized aluminum adapter plate and nickel-plated brass pneumatic connections
Facts and data for AirLINE Quick - Reduced number of components in control cabinets - Fast installation - Smaller control cabinets can be used - In stainless steel for hygienic applications - In anodized aluminium for general purpose - AirLINE Quick in fully assembled control cabinet from one source

Efficient Gripping of Large Strokes 2-Finger Long Stroke Gripper PHL from SCHUNK
The PHL from SCHUNK alternatively disposes of a multi-tooth guidance or a profiled rail guidance, which increases the degree of efficiency of the gripper. For many applications, smaller and more cost-efficient sizes can now be selected. Thus over-sizing is avoided, the air consumption and energy is minimized, and the required space for applications is reduced.
With multi-tooth jaw guidance, the PHL is particularly suitable for rough environments. The gripper can be equipped with roller bearings and profiled rail guidance, achieving a higher degree of efficiency. The guiding carriage of the gripper fingers are equipped with ball bearings, which minimizes friction and evenly distributes forces. Since the jaw guide is sealed and permanently lubricated, the bearing capacity of the gripper increases and reduces wear. Users benefit from the reliability, precision and long service life of the gripper.
The PHL is available in five sizes with piston diameters between 25-63 mm (1-2.5), generating gripping forces up to 3250N (740 lbf). The long stroke ranges up to 320 mm (12.5) of total stroke and the maximum admissible finger length is 500mm (20) which increases the flexibility in design. Every size is available as a special version with Vinton seals for high temperatures of up to 130 C (266 F). Gripper positions can be monitored by inductive proximity switches or magnetic switches.
